BlackandWhite > Calavera  > Photography > Monochrome
I set up this gallery to cover shots where I did some serious manipulation of color...either a change to B&W, Sepia, color muting, or various combinations of the former.

Calavera > Silver efx in action...more cheesy statues from a restaurant on Long Island that I feel compelled to try out next time I'm there
Calavera > Yep..thats my shadow. This is a shot of a wave breaking on the Manhatan Beach Pier
Calavera > This is from the FDR Memorial in DC. My original shot was blown out in many spots. By taking most of the shot into shadow, the highlights still provide a recognizable composition, but the figures become more mysterious or anonymous...more in fitting with the times of the Great Depression.
Calavera > Interesting sign and composition
Calavera > I had one of these old Spalding footballs signed by Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch. That is, until I came back for the holidays in my 1st semester ar college only to find that my youngest brother had been playing football on our gravel streets...the football in the picture actually looked better than mine.
Calavera > Ugly day
Calavera > Looking out on the south colonnade...sloid cacti
Calavera > The world is becoming increasingly monochrome to me...I feel like I'm moving backwards to try and tap some of the wonder of early photography. It becomes truly exciting at the point autochromic effects are developed...they introduce color on a practical scale and the early ppractionioners of these sttyles were heavily influenced by the Impressionist painters ogf the late 19th/early 20th centuries. I still have the same fascination with dinosaurs as I had when I was a kid...must be a guy thing
