Cacti and Succulents : It never ceases to amaze me when you think of the diversity of colors and shapes of the cactus/succulent family...especially given the inhospitable climates they must endure. For a few weeks during the year, the desert, various arboretums, gardens, and our own backyard put on a show that is unparalleled in nature.

Joshua Tree : The desert comes alive in the early spring. We took a ride out to Joshua Tree national Monument to see the wildflowers (more pix to come), but we were stunned by the beauty of the place itself.
