Humor > Calavera  > Humor > The Lighter Side
I've been told (on many occasions) that my sense of humor tends to be "offbeat", "bizzare", "strange"...I prefer to think of it as "whimsical". You get the drift. So its no surprise that this trait may have dribbled into my photography. While it may appear that my world is populated with gnomes, tacky statues, calaveras, and anything that pokes fun at established cultural mores, you wouldn't be too far off.

Calavera > If you are walking around Haight Asbury in SF, be sure to look up. Many oddities await.
Calavera > Old Town...I've lost my mind...if word ever gets out about this place the GLF (Gnome Liberation Front---it really does exist) will have a field day. I actully have some nice beach landscapes, but today I'm going with a few shots of interesting gnomes. How often do you see a gnome with a cow?
Calavera > Zoltan will tell your future for a quarter.
Calavera > Pumpkin decorating contest in Montreal
Calavera > This is most bizzare...gnomes shrink wrapped in plastic...that's most unhuman
Calavera > Or a Gnome with a frog?
Calavera > This is a scan of a VERY old photo taken in NYC (near the Battery). It has always struck me as being a quintissential NYC photo...the quality isn't that great, but you should probably look at an enlargement to get the full drift...Think...Joe the Plumber
Calavera > My thanks to all of you who were kind enough to note my Aunt's passing...talk about having an impact, I had to take a plane to San Fran for a connection to JFK in NY...I get to taliking with the lady sitting next to me...she tells me that they're coming home from a trip to Carmel and Monterrey Missions here in CA...the tour was guided by Dominican Nuns (my cousin is on)...Yep..they knew my cousin and my Aunt!!! I ran into some of them at Sundays wake...I wish I had some idea of what drives these connections...so until I can figure it out, I'll keep taking pix...here's one of one of our Garden Gnomes ith a guitar...who could ask for more?
Calavera > Had to get this Topiary Mariachi posted...it's near the herb gardens at the Quail Botanical Garden north of San Diego.
