OK...I've been remiss in any postings. Not too long ago, I was at Bolsa Chica nature preserve and had my new 70-300mm telephoto lens with my old Nikon D70. Lo and behold, while trying to get an egret shot, the magnetic mount gave way and sent the D70 to camera heaven. Now the proud owner of a D300 (without the video baggage of the 300s), I've been trying to reshoot many of my favorites with the 300. I shoot with an 18-70mm zoom, and a 60mm Nikkor macro Lens with extension tubes. Most post production is done in Photoshop Elements 8.0 with considerable use of plug-ins from Nik Color Efex Pro Suite. I've always "dabbled" in photography, but over time, the cost and inconvenience of film processing wore me down. About 5 years ago, I made the jump to digital and I would have a difficult time going back to film...alarming to many purists, I assume. I've always enjoyed the pursuit of the shot...but now, I lose myself in the post production (Nik Color efex 3.0). This gives me the opportunity to transform a moment to something that approaches my basic sense of awe and wonderment at everything around us. I hope you enjoy the pictures and feel free to offer your comments/perspective...and, by all means, feel free to purchase any photo in the galleries.
Would love to hear from you...e-mail me at... reolsen@cox.net...Thanks...Bob Olsen
